Amate Yuzuriha is a high-school student living peacefully in a space colony floating in outer space. When she meets a war refugee named Nyaan, Amate is drawn into the illegal mobile suit dueling sport known as Clan Battle. Under the entry name "Machu," she throws herself into fierce battle day after day, piloting the GQuuuuuuX. Then an unidentified Gundam mobile suit pursued by both the space force and the police appears before her, along with its pilot, a boy named Shuji.
This is the latest Gundam series produced by a collaboration between Studio Khara, known for the "Evangelion" series, and Sunrise. Released in theaters on January 17, 2025, the theatrical advance edition "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-" became a major hit, surpassing box office revenue of 3.5 billion yen and an audience of 2.1 million. The Blu-ray release of the theatrical advance edition "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-" is now available. Directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki, who served as director on the "Rebuild of Evangelion" series, with series composition by Yoji Enokido and mechanical design by Ikuto Yamashita, this title brings together a distinguished staff lineup. The theme song features Kenshi Yonezu "Plazma", and the insert songs include Hoshimachi Suisei "Mou Dou Natte mo Iiya" and NOMELON NOLEMON "Midnight Reflection", with prominent artists participating.
This set includes the main feature 4K ULTRA HD Blu-ray, the main feature Blu-ray, and a bonus Blu-ray. The bonus Blu-ray disc includes teaser footage, trailers, the main trailer, Promotion Reel, Promotion Reel 2, a TV commercial collection, special footage identical to the footage added after the screening of the main feature at the time of the theatrical release of "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-", and stage greeting footage. Also included are a special booklet and a newly written novel by series composition and script writer Yoji Enokido titled "17 Banchi Jiken".
