"Ghost in the Shell," Masamune Shirow's landmark work of cyberpunk science fiction, gets a Blu-ray Box (Limited Edition) containing all 10 episodes of the TV series, with animation production by Science SARU. A lineup of star staff comes together, including EnJoe Toh on series composition and screenplay and Shuhei Handa on character design and chief animation direction, among others. The music is produced by Ryo Konishi and YUKI KANESAKA under music director Taisei Iwasaki. Maaya Sakamoto, Kazuhiro Yamaji, Hiroki Yasumoto, Yuichi Nakamura, and other star cast members appear. King Gnu performs the opening theme and MILLENNIUM PARADE the ending theme, marking the first time the two have ever appeared together. 

The year is 2029, a near-future Japan not yet so thoroughly networked that, even as corporate networks blanket the planet and electrons and light race everywhere, nations and ethnicities have vanished entirely. The full-body cyborg Motoko Kusanagi, while commanding an elite unit that includes Batou, hopes to establish a special task force aimed at preventing crime before it happens. Daisuke Aramaki of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who had been envisioning the creation of a similar unit, scouts Kusanagi and her team. Kusanagi and the others begin operating as Public Security Section 9, an offensive organization known as "Shell Squad." As they confront cybercrime swirling with international conspiracies, the presence of an unidentified hacker known as the "Puppet Master" surfaces in the course of investigating one incident. What fate awaits Kusanagi, and what is the Puppet Master's true objective? A new era of cyberpunk action begins.
