Volume #1 (Eps #1-5) Due to their paranormal abilities, two young brothers (Naoto and Naoya) are cast out by their parents and given into the custody of a research center. They escape fifteen years later, and soon learn that they will play a pivotal role in the coming "Upheaval." Volume #2 (Eps #6-10) Naoto and Naoya visit their old home only to find things to be not quite as they remember. Things become even more curious as they become involved in a case dealing with a school and its twisted teachers and suicidal students. After solving the mystery behind that remorseful situation, the two brothers learn a fraction more about the state of the world and their place in it. There is no time for reflection, however, as premonitions of death and disease come to light and new riddles require unraveling. Volume #3 (Eps #11-15) Situations intensify around the supernatural siblings Naoto and Naoya as they become involved in stranger and more serious paranormal cases. Hidden pasts are slowly revealed in the background, and the brothers come to blows with people possessing powers that are more dangerous than ever. Afterwards, an old friend asks for their aid, and giving it means more trouble than they ever realized. By the end of the whole affair, the Kirihara brothers are in for an even greater surprise. Volume #4 (Eps #16-20) After helping an old acquaintance, the Kirihara brothers are given just the slightest hint more about the mysterious Shouko and what is happening to her. The two then decide to take a short personal side trip and visit family, only to have an old enemy interfere with the reunion. More is revealed about the players behind all the intrigue, and while diving for information, they are confronted by enemies whom Naoto is deadly serious about protecting Naoya from. Shouko waits for them beyond the battle, ready to tell them one last thing before destiny calls for her. Volume #5 (Eps #21-24) Goaded into a showdown with another powerful psychic named Mikumo, Naoto is slowly and deliberately steered down the murderer's path. As the stark consequences drive him into a comatose state, Sakie's power is pushed into motion by a terrible tragedy at Mikumo's hands. Helpless, Naoya does what he can to stem the tide of the supernatural events triggered by Sakie's awakening, only to be saved by another's. After those events, the two brothers meet a young girl who draws mysterious pictures, and the duo are prompted on another case, no longer asking the question, "Where are we headed?" |
