To succeed in their mission to save Rukia from execution, they must defeat the giant gatekeeper and find some way into the walled city. But it's not going to be easy!

Ichigo and company succeed in breaching the walls of the Seireitei, the Soul Reapers' compound, where they find themselves split up and in serious danger. In the present, the letter Aizen left for her at his death scene leads Momo to believe she has identified his killer... While Ichigo and Renji train with Yoruichi to achieve bankai, Rukia recalls a bit of her own past in a dream that she believes will prepare her to face her execution - which has been moved up to the next day!

Volume #13 (Eps #50-53)
Television luminary Don Kanonji brings back Yuzu, Jinta, and Ururu as his Karakura Superheroes to revive his flagging show - with Kon serving as mascot! Rangiku Matsumoto and several other Soul Reapers arrive to help in the battle against the evil Bounts. Entering the cave hideout, they soon discover they've stumbled into a trap! Just in time to back up their comrades, Ichigo faces the Bount leader Kariya and must summon his bankai if he is to survive, while Uryu must rediscover his lost powers as well.

Volume #23 (Eps #92-95)
Kariya and the Bounts arrive in the Soul Society and find themselves battling two Soul Reaper lieutenants, but the abundance of reishi in the Soul Society gives the Bounts a ready source of power, rendering them formidable opponents. Ichigo and friends arrive in the Soul Society, and when Rukia is injured in a fight, Ichigo follows her to the Kuchiki house, where he asks Byakuya to fight alongside him against the Bounts. Byakuya refuses and insists they leave it up to the 13th Court Squad Guards, but soon enough Byakuya finds himself in a one-on-one battle with Kariya.

Volume #24 (Eps #96-99)
Captain Toshiro Hitsugaya is assigned to lead the defense of the Soul Society and mobilize the Soul Reapers to find and kill the intruding Bounts. But the Bount leader Jin Kariya has gathered a huge mob of ruffians and plans to use them in his quest for revenge. Meanwhile, it is discovered that Maki Ichinose, the banished Soul Reaper, helping the Bounts, has infiltrated the Seireitei, and has been secretly manipulating their data. What strategies will play out, and how can Ichigo and his allies stop them?
